Trump on the ballot, Super Tuesday
It was not a surprise to me that the Supreme Court ruled that Trump could remain on the ballot to run for president. What did surprise me was the consent of all 9 justices. The liberal justices did have a dissenting opinion as to the majority ruling, but in the end agreed that a lower court could not remove a candidate from the ballot. The majority ruled that section 3 of the 14th amendment is only enforceable by Congress. They came to this conclusion based on what section 5 states. I think that any fair minded person would also read it that way. But Trump derangement what it is, the left thought it would be a slam dunk getting Trump removed. In the courts majority opinion they also stated the chaos that would ensue shuould every state start deciding to unilaterally remove candidates from the ballot.
The courts ruling on Colorado was crucial for Trump. It fell just days before the Super Tuesday primary elections of which Colorado was one of the states involved. There were 16 states voting and Trump won 15. Nikki Haley won Vermont, but has since dropped out of the race. Now Trump is well on his way to the nomination with no challengers to take on, not there really was a real threat to him anyway. So it looks like (ho hum) it will be Trump v Biden again. I will not be voting for either one of them so election season will drag on seemingly forever. The stage is now set, but now we have to endure a rerun to 2020. Yawn!
